McBride Therapy Co
Mobile Paediatric Occupational Therapy servicing the Wollongong and Shellharbour regions
About us
McBride Therapy Co is a mobile occupational therapy service supporting children, teenagers and young adults in the environments where they live, learn and play- from home and childcare to school and the wider community.
We believe therapy is most meaningful when it is connected to real life. By working alongside the people who know each child best, we develop practical and individualised strategies that support their participation, independence and confidence every step of the way.
Therapy should fit into real life — not the other way around

How OT can support your child
Paediatric occupational therapy helps kids develop the skills they need to participate, learn, play and become more independent in everyday life.
Fine motor skills
Fine motor skills involve coordinating the small muscles of the hands and fingers to grasp, explore and manipulate objects. They support everyday skills such as drawing, cutting, dressing, feeding and developing handwriting.
Gross motor skills
Gross motor skills support posture, balance, coordination and body control, helping children move confidently and participate in play, classroom activities and everyday tasks
Self-care skills
Self-care skills are the skills children use to care for themselves and become more independent, such as dressing, toileting, eating, brushing their teeth, completing daily routines and managing their personal belongings.
Social and Emotional growth
Social and Emotional Growth supports children to understand and express their emotions, build confidence, develop + maintain relationships, and navigate everyday social situations.
Everyday life skills
Helping children build the practical skills they need to participate more independently in everyday life. This may include preparing age-appropriate meals and helping with household jobs, to accessing the community, managing routines and getting ready for employment.
Meet Liz
Occupational Therapist
Hi! I’m Liz, the OT behind McBride Therapy Co.
I’ve worked in allied health for over a decade and OT was the profession that made the most sense to me. I love that it’s about helping kids build skills that actually matter in their everyday lives — whether that’s managing the classroom, joining in with play, becoming more independent at home or out in the world, or simply feeling more confident in what they can do.
My approach is practical, collaborative and strengths-based. I work with each child’s interests, abilities and environment rather than trying to fit them into a one-size-fits-all approach. I’m a mum of two myself, so I understand that families are already juggling enough. I know how important it is for therapy to feel manageable, practical and worthwhile — not another thing to add to the list.
Outside of work, you’ll usually find me chasing a toddler, hanging out with my dogs, or calculating whether it’s too late in the day for another coffee.
I started McBride Therapy Co because I wanted to provide OT that feels practical, personal and genuinely useful — for kids and for the families supporting them.
